#TIMONTOUR - YOSEMITE PART I

So after hitting up San Francisco in a whirlwind tour we attempted to do the same thing in Yosemite. It was our first time visiting too so we were pretty excited at all that we were going to see. However as we arrived the forecast did not look good, in fact it was predicting rain, possible snow and a lot of cloud cover. It didn't give us much hope for seeing much. We had friends who were there whilst we were in San Francisco and they had some amazing sunshine but as we arrived so did the rain.

We had arrived a little later than anticipated so we decided to walk straight to Yosemite Falls to see if we could spot any of it. We managed to see on lower Yosemite Falls but it was still pretty breathtaking. There was tons of wildlife roaming around, especially really tame deer who just stood there whilst you took their photo.

We had a bit of a look round the Yosemite information centre to learn a bit of the history of the place and also to check the weather report for the next day. One of the passes we were intending to go down had been shut due to the snow warning so we wanted to make sure we were prepared in case there was large amounts of snow. I was freaking out at this point because I didn't feel particularly prepared and have become a little too Californian! I'm a fair weather girl now!

At this point light was fading, the cloud cover was really rolling in and we still had to get out of the park to our accommodation. We drove past Bridalveil Falls and stopped to grab some photos. As you head out of Yosemite valley you get an amazing vista point where on a clear day you can see down the valley. The cloud cover had pretty much rolled in so you couldn't see too much but it still took your breath away. It was incredible. There were tons of photographers there with tripods set up waiting for that break in the cloud cover in case they could get the ultimate photo. Obviously our photos won't be their quality but we did manage to snap a few.

So that was a short recount of the first day. The next post will show you the second day and be prepared for photo overload. The place was stunning!
